They perform a number of tasks, including negotiating contractual terms, preparing contracts, evaluating bids and researching current rules. Contract specialists design and review contractual agreements between a company and suppliers of products or services. These specialists work as experts in theatres, businesses and non-profit organisations. These include the evaluation of tenders, the preparation of contracts and the negotiation of conditions. Macfadden, an EAP company, is looking for a PSC contract specialist to support the U.S. Agency for International Development office. Foreign Disaster Assistance (USAID/OFDA) in Washington, DC.

The PSC Contracts Specialist helps USAID offices procure humanitarian personnel around the world. The Personal Services Contract (PSC) recruitment mechanism allows OFDA to enter into fast and flexible contracts with disaster relief experts. The PSC team`s contract specialists focus on the contracting part of the purchasing workflow. The contract specialists will be in close cooperation with the Government, current contractors and the contracting entities selected for the award of contracts. The contract specialist should also be familiar with the procedures for induction of staff, since his workload is a staff element. The specialist facilitates negotiations on salaries and benefits, departure dates, moves, etc. This position description reflects the assignment of essential functions to Macfadden; Nothing in this description limits the company`s flexibility to assign or re-evaluate tasks and responsibilities to this organization at any time.
